Free Poker Games Skills – Luck Knowing Players and Betting Strategy

I love playing both pay poker and free poker online and very much hope my following tips are of use to you in your own games.

Lady Luck

Well to start with let me be very clear about the fact that like all games of cards this too depends a lot on your luck. Therefore the first tip is to make your own luck and this can be achieved by carefully choosing the cards you bet on. Any face card is great to be holding, but the best card to have is an Ace. This is because most people bet only when they have a card with a high face value. The best time to go all-in is when you are holding a face card or even better, two of them. Although as I said that there are no guarantees and still a lot depends on luck.

Observe the Players you are Playing With

You are always going to come across some aggressive players who, no matter what type of cards they have, like to play a risky game and go all-in. My advice would be to avoid betting against these players until they have lost their chips and are out or they calm down their betting.

The other type of player is the one who is very tight with their betting and even if they have a decent hand is still likely to bet a low amount. These types of players are of no significant danger of knocking you out.

Next come the so called bluffers and these can be quite dangerous. It's really hard to figure out when they are bluffing and when they really have good cards. They confuse you a lot so be careful while dealing with such players. The best thing though is to play with only when you are confident about your cards.

Betting Strategy

Next comes the question of how much to bet and the best tactic seems to be the one where you wait till the last, that is if you get a chance to do that. If not, just play according to the cards you have been dealt and go all out if you really have a good hand. The best way to get more return for your good hand is to bet small amounts in the beginning, to keep all interested and then increase the bet steadily. In this way the other players are forced to keep betting and you can increase the number of chips you earn.

I look forward to seeing you at the free poker tables soon!

Let the Novice Payers Play Free Online Poker and Don’t ‘Tap the Aquarium’!

It's very surprising that over recent years the level of boasting a win against an opponent has took an upwards turn. Even more surprising is that this tendency not only occurs on the free online poker sites but also on the money tables. Scaring a smaller "fish" away is not a very shrewd tactic; as keeping this player involved should result in winning their money. On the contrary this type of player may not realise their own lack of ability, and consequently the longer you can keep them in the "water" the more of their money you can win. Hence the saying: "don't tap the aquarium".

You want to people to gamble. You even want fish to get lucky a few times so that they'll keep gambling. That is why you should try to treat fish with respect. You want them to enjoy themselves and have a good time.

You may even congratulate them on their bad play to make them think that they're playing correctly. This, of course, would be a form of hustling that some people wouldn't be comfortable with engaging in.

If you don't feel like hustling the fish, then you should at least try keeping it jovial at the table. By creating a fun atmosphere at the free online poker tables, people will care less about the money that they're throwing around and start playing loose and wild. This is what you want if you're a good player. You'll be playing solid poker, while they'll be throwing their money away.

No one likes being disrespected and the chances are if you're obnoxious or impolite, your fish will find another bowl to swim in (table to play at) and inevitably take their purse with them. By pushing this opponent away you will have potentially pushed away money you could have won from their blunders.

Take a moment to think about if all players were decent? Poker would be one hard game to win at or more to the point make any money from.

The main goal of playing good poker is to make as many correct decisions as you can, while forcing your opponents to make as many incorrect decisions as you can. It's much easier to encourage bad players to make bad decisions, so you shouldn't scare them away. In the long run, you'll profit from their bad plays.

The game of Poker is competitive, and by pointing out opponents mistakes you will not only get the fishes back up- you will be helping them develop. They may take this one step further and decide to take some time away from the table to find ways to improve. Like most things- the more you play the better you become, especially when your opponents helping you realise your errors. Sure enough the fish soon develops into a competent player and the chances of taking their money has gone from a given to a struggle.

It's hard enough to win at poker nowadays with all the information that's available to improve your game. There are a lot of decent players out there. The games simply aren't as soft as they were when I started playing online seven years ago.

I continue to play free online poker where there's still plenty of cash available to win- but you will never catch me "tapping the fish tank"!!

Free Poker Games How to Watch the Board Cards and Win

Whatever type of poker you are playing, free poker games, pay poker or poker with friends for fun, watching the cards which make the flop is so important, especially when you are new to the game.

As the shared cards on the table are played by all of the players in a game, there is always a chance that another player is holding the same cards as you do, and hold a higher kicker. Take this situation, for instance: Two pair is a very common hold in hold'em. Let's suppose that player A has two sixes in the hole. That's a turning hand, as he now has a pretty good hope of getting another to get three of a kind, and he's going to get three cards in the flop instead of one at a time to see if he can get that other six.

The turn comes an eight, eight, and deuce. Now Player A has sixes and eights. Player A is now looking good to win the game over Player B, who is holding an ace, king as there are still 2 more cards on their way and this player will need to catch one of these in order to beat Player A.

Along comes a ten. Then along comes a ten. Now Player B has taken over and Player A cant beat him. Player B has tens and eights with an ace kicker. Since only five of the seven cards are played to make a hand, Player A has eights and tens with a six kicker. Actually, he's ended up with three pair which aren't worth a damn. If the final community card hadn't been a ten, then Player A would have won, but Player B has now won the pot because of his 'ace kicker'.

If you are new to hold'em, have a go at playing free poker games and see how you get on before betting any real money on the cash tables.

Free Poker Online – Guide to Overcoming the Dangers of Over Betting

Knowing the in's and out's of when and how much to bet is the best way to win big when playing free poker online and casino poker.

It sounds simple, yes? Well, not necessarily when one of the main errors when playing poker is when people over bet. However, there are occasions where you may need to bet big, and hopefully my tips will help you get the most out of these bets.

There will inevitably be an occasion when playing where you have a great hand. To built up the pot, you need to keep other players in the game. But, as we all know, this is poker and there are times when it wont go to plan.

If, on the other hand, the flop is such that you could be outdrawn and you don't want to take a chance, then bet it accordingly.

For Example:
You are in third position, (three seats after the small blind), with pocket sevens (7 diamonds, 7 hearts). You raise three times the big blind and get two callers, the button and the big blind. The flop comes 7-clubs, 8-clubs, 9-diamonds. This is good and bad. You hit your trips, but there is a flush draw and a straight draw. What to do?

What I would do....
#1. If the blind bets, say minimum or twice the blind, I would raise the minimum to see how the button reacts. If he calls, and the blind calls, I can assume they are on a draw and I have the best hand. For now. If either one re-raises I fold.

#2. If the blind checks I would bet four times the blind amount, again to see where I am. Now if the button calls or raises I can assume he has a strong drawing hand, such as two big clubs, or he has a made hand. If the blind also calls I can assume I am way behind. Still, there should be enough money in the pot to justify a call hoping to fill up on the turn.

Regardless what the turn is I plan on checking. If the turn is a six or ten and the blind bets big I fold. If the blind checks, I check. If the button bets the pot or more, I fold. Now, I have lost some chips, but I am still in the game.

Whether playing free poker online or pay poker, the over betting I have seen in situations like this is that the trips bet 80% to 100% (all-in) of their stack regardless of the flop or their position. If one of the other players flopped a straight you are in big trouble. The only way out is to get very lucky and hit a boat, otherwise you are out of the game.

The thing to remember is that if you have gone all-in, you cant change your mind later! If you are new to poker then I would advise you spend some time playing free poker. This should help you improve your game no end and help you move on to big money games.

Free Poker Online Guide to Understanding Styles of Play and How This Will Win More Games

Playing paid or free poker online is a game of skill, chance with a little luck thrown in for good measure.

As we all know, 52 cards make up a deck and whatever 5 cards are dealt out, one of those will always win. It could be the ultimate hand of a Royal Flush or the lowest possible pair of 2's. In some cases, it could even be A high. This is the wonderful world of poker, not knowing which hands are going to win the game.

When dealt cards you must first decide whether they are suitable to your style of play. Then the decision is whether to fold, call or raise the big blind.

Each and every poker player has a unique style of play. Some will play 3 4 off suit, whereas others may only play face cards. That is a style of play. I know of many players who will play nearly every hand pre-flop as long as the bet is within their comfort zone.

Once the flop is seen, it becomes more interesting and a bigger decision needing to be made. If you are holding 3 4 off suit and the flop shows AKJ, what is the likelihood that you will continue with the hand? I would imagine you would fold, unless it is a check through until the turn card is shown.

No poker player is the same, and its important to remember that you can never bee 100% sure how each player will play a hand. I have been in a game once where a player had a 3 4 offsuit and they made a big bet after the flop. They were obviously bluffing, but they pulled it off. This isn't something that I would do personally, but it proves how each player is very different.

That is why it is always important to observe and study your fellow card players. In time, you develop enough information on their style of play to fairly accurately predict what they will do.

Does that always work to your advantage you may ask yourself. Well, the answer would be no. As I stated earlier, any given 5 cards will win a hand and they may very well be holding Q 10 and flopped a straight. But the odds are in your favor to predict certain scenarios after learning others' style of play.

As much as you can rely on studying opponents playing styles to help you win, you must also remember that its your own playing which will win you a game of poker. Have a go playing free poker online and practice, practice, practice before moving on to money games.

Free Poker Top Tips.

The following free poker tips do include some poker terminology, if you're new to poker get familiar with these terms first by finding a good free poker glossary online.

1. Single Table Poker Tournaments (STT's) are a quicker game than Multi Table Tournaments (MTT's) and you want to give yourself enough chips to bet properly during the middle stages.

2. You should reduce your starting hand requirements slightly from late position in case of no raises: in no limit poker the expected value of say, a small pocket pair, can be very high.

3. Hands that you can play (in case of no raises and lots of limpers in the pot) in late position include two suited face cards, and suited aces down to an eight. In this phase you are looking for a nuts or near nuts hand (nut flush, full house or straight) that you can afford to slow play and make a huge gain for a small initial stake.

4. A pocket pair can become really strong hand, especially against multiple callers, because of the disguise value if you hit a set on the flop.

5. Post flop you should be mega-tight and never jeopardize either your chips or your table image chasing the river|One big difference between a STT and an MTT is where one player amasses a huge chip lead in the early stages. In an MTT, you hate having them on your table. They steal the pots while people on other tables are playing hands. But in a STT a clear chip leader can be a positive factor. The bluffers are in big trouble, because whatever they throw in, big stack can afford to call. It is possible to play nice and tight and still keep up.

Summary
Start your game by playing as tight as you can and avoid bluffing. Wait for other players to loose without giving up too many chips. Create the impression you are a rock and you'll do great over the long term. If you're new to it all practice on the free poker sites first before moving up in line with your growing confidence and bankroll.

Free Online Poker – Sandbagging, Slow Play and Trapping

A good technique to turn a solid hand in buy-in and free online poker games into a great one is to "sandbag," or in plain language, not disclosing your power until the "Kenny Rogers Right Time."

When the game starts and other players start betting, hold back and keep your cool. Avoid making any raises of any size.

The key is to keep as many players as possible in the game for as long as possible and then "kill" them with an "all-in" at the critical time.

Some player also call this "slow playing a hand." I have found the real trick in sandbagging is to almost hide your hand by not signalling anything.

This technique works well when another player has good cards, too. That player will do the betting for you and you will remain "hidden" until you are ready to slam them with an allin.

Many times by doing this you get into a nutz situation as the flop, turn, and river fill up your hand.

The technique in real live poker is much more difficult because you MUST hide your body and eye movements from the other players.

In internet paid and free online poker games it is much easier because no one can really "see" you. Sandbagging also gives you the option to make economic bets by not blowing a raise and ultimately losing to someone who hits big on the turn or river.

So, the key to being good at sandbagging when playing free online poker, is to entice as many players as possible into the pot and then jump all-in at the crucial time to take the pot. Good luck in giving it a go and I hope this tip serves you well.

I very much hope my tips on the sandbagging techniques help you in your poker play and look forward to seeing you on the poker tables soon.

A brief Glimpse Into Playstation 3’s Star Ocean – Finally Released!

The Star Ocean franchise has been going on for a long time now, and remains a quietly successful alternative to the bigger JRPGs out there. Last year the Xbox 360 was treated to the latest installment within the franchise; Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope. The title was highly regarded, however a Playstation release was nowhere to be seen. Now, at last, gamers can pick up Playstation 3's Star Ocean.

The production of this version is not a straight port, but rather is titled the 'international' edition, and offers some small extras. Firstly, the initial Japanese voice track has been added as an option. This is often a popular feature for those who prefer their JRPGs with a little more authenticity. Also, gamers are able to change the HUD show to reveal the initial Japanese artwork for characters. Not a huge addition, but nice all the same.

Now the title itself, and Playstation 3's Star Ocean can not disappoint. The title expands the combat system of previous installments within the franchise, offering a simple but fun attack approach that is systematically levelled up as time goes on. New features like the Rush gauge add a new take on the combat, rewarding fast handed gamers with further benefits.

The storyline that runs throughout Playstation 3's Star Ocean is suitably grand, as one might anticipate from developers Square Enix. A great feature is the optional Personal Actions, which allows users to interact among their characters to realize a deeper sense of character development. This might not be essential to the storyline, but is great for gamers hoping to totally immerse themselves with the storyline.

It may have taken a long time, however Playstation 3's Star Ocean is unquestionably worth the delay. The visuals, whilst perhaps not up to Final Fantasy standards, are still beautiful and the storyline can reward you the more you put into it. Any followers of the genre should definitely look into this amazing title.

Free Poker Start Winning Poker by Picking The Right Games

Improving your playing skills will definitely help to increase your poker profits, but so will choosing the right free poker games to play. There is an old poker story about a professional who was the 6th best player in the world, but he never made a penny. The reason for this was because he would only ever play against the top 5 players in the world. The moral of the story here is to choose your games and opponents carefully to ensure you have a chance of winning.

Don't be overconfident:

Everyone wants to be the best and play the best. It's a matter of pride. However, unless your name is Phil Ivey, you probably won't have an advantage over every opponent in every game. It's also important to recognize that even the top poker pros will sometimes step down a level and play lesser competition because it's more profitable.

Whatever type of game you are playing, whether it is at a live table or playing other players online, don't try to head for tables with players who are far better than you are. You are just going to throw away your money.

I remember one time when I played for a couple hours in a $1/2 no-limit hold'em game at a small casino in Palm Springs, California. I nearly doubled my money without winning a single big pot. The players were passive and loose, and I ran them over by putting pressure on them with big bets and getting paid off for reasonably strong hands. I knew that I picked the right table.

I also remember one time when I played for five hours in a $1/2 no-limit hold'em game at a five-star hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. I barely broke even. The players were tight and aggressive and played back at me when I tried to put a move on them. I knew afterward that I picked the wrong table.

What kind of game to look for:

The first thing to keep in mind is your bankroll. If you can't afford to play $5/10 live or $.50/1 online, then you shouldn't do it. You should move down to a more affordable level or head for free poker games.

As much as you would love to think you are the best player in the world, its unlikely, so you need to think about your level of skill and stick to table levels where you realistically know you have a chance of winning.

After being brutally honest with yourself about bankroll and your skill level, you then need to think about which table you want to sit at. Look out for a table where your prospective opponents are playing loose and weak. Keep an eye out for errors. A loose game will allow you to win big pots because players will call you down with weak hands, and a passive game affords you the opportunity to hit your draws cheaply and bully your opposition.

You will never be lucky enough to always find a loose table. But, you should still be able to get a good enough idea if the table is beatable by watching the players beforehand. It's good to be a good player, but being a money-making good player requires skill in the fine art of game selection.

So, whether its pay games or free poker, live games or online games, observation and brutal honesty is what is going to make you profit in the long term.
